Biography / History
Ludomira Markiewicz. (1900-1953) A lawyer and archivist, she received a Law degree from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. Emigrated to the United States in 1958. Volunteer in the Alfred Jurzykowski Memorial Library and Archives. Member of the Polish Juridical Society in the United States, Inc. Acquisition Note: Gift of Ludomira Markiewicz 2000-2002.
Abstract
Contents: Private correspondence and notes regarding PIASA archives. Collection of publications and press clippings regarding activities of Polonian organizations, Pope John Paul II, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Kardynal Stefan Wyszynski, pulkownik Ryszard Kuklinski, ksiadz Jerzy Popieluszko and also materials regarding activities of the Solidarity Movements, Martial Law in Poland and Polish-Jewish Relations in the United States.
