Biography / History

Jozef Lipski (1894-1958) was a Polish politician and the Polish Ambassador to Germany (1933-1939). During War World II he was the Secretary General of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Polish Government-in-exile in London (1941-1945). In 1947 he emigrated to the USA. Acquisition Note: Gift for PIASA ca. 1958.

Abstract

The collection contains correspondence of Jozef Lipski with Karol Ripa, Ignacy Paderewski, Julian Moszynski, Helena Sikorska and his wife Anna Maria Lipska. There is also correspondence on financial issues (1950-1958). Arrangement in Series: Personal Papers (1940-1958). Special Note: Political papers of Jozef Lipski are in the Jozef Lipski collection in the Jozef Pilsudski Institute of America in New York.
